Big Event Drapery
Terms and Conditions.
1) All equipment remains the property of Big Event Drapery (BED).
2) During the period of hire the hirer (person names on contract) shall be solely responsible for the hired goods and insurances required.
3) BED shall not be held responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property howsoever sustained arising from our goods under hire.
4) The contract for the hire of goods is between BED and the hirer, not the venue unless the goods are being hired directly by the venue. It is the
hirer’s responsibility to ensure the venue is clearly instructed that the terms and conditions are met. BED will charge the hirer for any costs due to terms and conditions being broken. It is then the responsibility of the hirer to reclaim any of these costs from the venue or any other party at fault.
5) Shortages and damages to hired goods will be charges at full replacement value including any V.A.T and delivery charges incurred to BED. No
substitute item will be accepted by BED.
6) BED will inform the hirer within 30days in writing of any damages and costs concerning any of the hired goods. An invoice will be sent outlining
amount of damage and costs due.
7) In the event of shortages or damages the hirer shall notify BED within 24 hours or prior to the event start time whichever comes first. If the
hirer fails to do this the goods will be deemed to be delivered and in correct condition.
8) Goods must be ready for collection at the agreed location at the correct date and time. A charge is made for any aborted delivery or collection
where the venue/hirer/customer is at fault.
9) Charges will be made for any damaged goods including goods that have been dragged on the floor, ground in earth stains, burns, holes, rips and tears, grease or deep staining. Made to measure drapes are excluded from this term.
10) Damaged goods remain the property of BED.
11) If goods are not returned at the end of the agreed hire period BED retain the right to charge for:
11a) The cost of replacement goods to honour any bookings where the goods are required.
11b) The cost of replacement goods where hire items are permanently not returned. We deem permanently not returned as 14 days or more. This charge will be in addition to 11a unless notified immediately after the event in writing that they will not be returned.
11c) Additional courier/collections charged at actual cost.
12) Invoices for replacement goods must be settled within 14 days or additional charges will be added for late payment as you will be preventing us
from ordering stock for somebody else’s event.
13) It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that all dimensions, colours and fabrics are correct at least 4 weeks prior to event date. BED
assumes no responsibility for incorrect measurements resulting in insufficient fabric for drapes/canopies.
14) It is the hirer’s responsibility to check with the venue owners and obtain permission for fixing of drapes. Refunds will not be given in full or
part if we are notified upon arrival that permission has not been received.
15) For erection of ceiling canopies a clear floor space is required, it is up to the hirer to ensure the area is clear prior to our arrival. We work
to a strict time schedule and cannot be held liable for any delays if the area is not clear.
16) We will not be held responsible for any circumstances that may occur preventing us from carrying out this contract. If this should happen you
will be notified and refunded in full. Compensation will not be paid and under no circumstances will the owner’s liability exceed the invoice value of hired goods.
17) By making a booking and paying your deposit to Big Event Drapery you are agreeing to all of the above terms and conditions. Terms and conditions may be updated at any stage and it is the hirer’s responsibility to check for updates to this contract and its terms and conditions.
